 BORING INFORMATION FOR CABINET DOORS

The term “Boring” means pre-drillings a cabinet door for hinges so you just have to insert the hinges and hang the doors.

Boring for European hinges is offered as part of our online ordering process, cutting down on the number of steps for you to complete the job and protecting your cabinet doors from potential damage.  Let us bore your order for hinges so you just have to insert the hinges and hang the doors.

BORING PLACEMENT DETAILS

Boring Hole Counts

0-48″ height = 2 holes

Above 48″ height = 3 holes

Our standard Boring Placement is compatible with most hinge suppliers.

Boring placement (left or right) should be based on looking at the front of the door.

Standard depth on both boring patterns is approximately 1/2″ deep.

At 48″ and above, a 3rd bore is recommended.

Third bore holes are placed on center.  If you require special placement, let us know in the additional notes section during checkout.  Additional fees will apply. 

Refer to your hardware supplier for required boring placement.

Boring is not available on all door styles or options due to face and fingerpull details including, but not limited to, cabinet doors with frames less than 2-1/4″ wide, 30 degree Back Bevel adn Lipped Back Edge Details.  

HOW DO I ORDER DIFFERENT LEFT AN DRIGHT BORING FOR SAME SIZE DOORS

To order doors of the same size with different left/right specifications simply add each door to your order separately.  

Boring placement (left or right) should be based on looking at the front of the door.

If you plan on using hidden or concealed hinges (aka European hinge or Euro hinge) to hang your cabinet doors, most concealed euro/cup hinges require a large cup hole and two smaller holes for either screws or dowels.  Our pre-boring option allows you to have these cups and dowel holes professionally drilled ensuring accurate and uniform cup and dowel holds and placement.
